Spend time relaxing on the golden sandy beaches of South Goa, which have a calmer and less crowded atmosphere than the popular beaches of North Goa. Start with the Colva Beach which has over 20 km stretch of sand and is less commercialised than others. Afterwards, visit the Benaulim Beach known for its water sports activities, grab some beer and enjoy the sunset here. End the day with a stroll in the lush greenery of Cabo De Rama Fort located on a hill, it provides a picturesque view of the coastline.
Go on a day trip to witness the Dudhsagar Waterfalls, a four-tiered waterfall on Mandovi river and one of the highest waterfalls in India. The cascading white water against a backdrop of greenery makes for a breathtaking sight. You can choose to hike through the forest or take a jeep safari to the waterfalls.
If you have more time, visit the 16th-century Fort Aguada in North Goa. Explore the vibrant markets of Panjim and Anjuna Beach’s famous Flea Market. If you have less time, visit the Anjuna Beach Flea market which is held only on Thursdays. Beware of pickpockets especially when in crowded areas. In December it can get crowded so book accommodation and transport in advance. Carry sunscreen, water bottles, and comfortable clothes.
