Dudhsagar Falls, located in the border of the Indian states of Karnataka and Goa, is a four-tiered waterfall cascading from a height of 1017 feet. The trek towards the falls is scenic, a mix of jungle and rock-cut steps. Water gushes down in terrific force in two tiers, creating a milky-white colour, thus the name "Dudhsagar," which means "Sea of Milk.” The waterfall is open from 6.30 am to 5 pm, and it is best to avoid weekends as it gets crowded.
Fort Aguada is a 17-century Portuguese fort facing the Arabian Sea. The fort is a well-preserved landmark in Goa’s history, which functioned as a defence against Dutch and Marathas. The fort enclosed a huge water reservoir, which could store ten million gallons and could supply fresh water to passing ships. The fort offers splendid views of the Arabian Sea and is best to be visited early around the opening time, which is at 9.30 am to avoid crowds.
A tropical spice plantation is an excellent tourist spot in Goa, where one can explore the farm scent, taste different spices and natural products and enjoy traditional Goan lunch. The lush plantation stands out for its rich collection of herbs and spices, like black pepper, vanilla, nutmeg, chilli, and cinnamon. After the spice plantation, head to the Anjuna Beach, a secluded and less explored beach. The beach has unique natural beauty and surrounded by coconut palms and rocky cliffs. Relax on the beach or take a dip in the sea and enjoy the calmness. Anjuna beach is usually open during the day, and it's advisable to avoid the area during monsoons.
If you have more time in Goa, visit the Old Goa Church, one of India's oldest churches and a UNESCO World Heritage site. For water sports enthusiasts, head to Baga Beach or Calangute Beach, which have several water activities like jet-skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides. Beach huts in Anjuna Beach are an affordable accommodation option and offer mesmerizing views. If you have less time than the three-day itinerary, skip the spice plantation and Anjuna Beach and instead visit Cansaulim Beach, which has a scenic view and excellent seafood options.
