Nature lovers camping at night can enjoy the beautiful starry sky lit by the moon reflecting off the waterfalls. Visitors can take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the falls as well.
The Edakkal Caves are two natural caves situated on top of Ambukuthi Hill. These caves are considered a major archaeological site in Wayanad, and visitors can see the ancient inscriptions and petroglyphs carved on the cave walls. The hike to the top of the hill requires a little stamina, but it is all worth it for the stunning views of the surrounding land.
The Banasura Sagar Dam is the largest earthen dam in India and the second-largest in Asia. If you have extra time, consider visiting Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake surrounded by greenery, or trekking to the top of Thusharagiri Falls. If you have less time, consider dropping Meenmutty Falls or Banasura Sagar Dam, both of which require a little more travel time. Keep in mind that each location may have different opening and closing times, especially during monsoon season in July. Plan your visits accordingly.
