Aguada Fort, built-in 1612, offers a stunning view of the ocean and the Sinquerim Beach. The lighthouse situated here is the oldest of its kind in Asia. The Fort also houses a small museum which provides visitors with a glimpse into its history. The Fort and the beach would take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for an enjoyable visit. Talking a stroll down the beach is also a must, with its crystal clear waters and golden sand.
Basilica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best example of baroque architecture in India. It is home to the remains of St Francis Xavier and attracts thousands of visitors every year. Se Cathedral, built-in 1619, stands tall with its iconic bell tower and gorgeous architecture. It is also one of the largest churches in Asia. The Basilica and Se Cathedral would take around 2 - 2.5 hrs for a complete visit.
Dudhsagar Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in India located on the Mandovi River. It provides some stunning scenery and is a must-visit destination for anyone going to Goa. The name Dudhsagar literally translates to Sea of Milk, and the water pouring down rocks gives it an appearance of milk. The falls are at their prime in June, and the swimming pool at the bottom offers a great place to relax.
Anjuna Beach and Flea Market is known for its vibrant atmosphere and hippie culture. The beach is known for its soft white sands, and clear blue waters. Food shacks, beach lounges, and water sports will consume your time. The Flea Market provides visitors the chance to buy handmade goods, funky jewelry items, and trinkets as a souvenir for friends and family. Beach and flea market would take around 3-4 hrs to explore.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Chapora Fort or Miramar Beach. South Goa beaches like Palolem or Colva are also worth visiting. For a nightlife experience, head to Tito's Lane or LPK Waterfront. During monsoon season, some places like Dudhsagar falls may be off-limits due to heavy rainfall, so it is advisable to check ahead of such visit.
