3-Day Itinerary for Chikmagalur

  1. Day 1: Hirekolale Lake

    For your last day in Chikmagalur Town, visit the Coffee Museum to learn about the coffee-growing culture of this region. You will get an opportunity to learn how coffee is really made and the process from growing to brewing. Later, drive 13km to Baba Budangiri, dedicated to the sage Baba Budan and reputed to be the place where coffee was first cultivated in India. Baba Budangiri is known for its spectacular views and scenic trekking trails. Don't forget to try some local coffee before you head back.

Useful Tips

They usually take a minimum of a half-day Jeep safari. You can also visit the nearby temple town of Sringeri.

If you have one less day in Chikmagalur, skip the Coffee Museum and the Baba Budangiri trek. Alternatively, you can replace it with a visit to Hebbe Falls, which is located at around 85km from Baba Budangiri and has enchanting views along with trekking trails.
