Start your trip to Chikmagalur by visiting the stunning Hirekolale Lake located in the northwest direction of Chikmagalur town. Later, drive 13km to Baba Budangiri, dedicated to the sage Baba Budan and reputed to be the place where coffee was first cultivated in India. Baba Budangiri is known for its spectacular views and scenic trekking trails. Don't forget to try some local coffee before you head back.
If you have more time, visit Mullayanagiri Peak, known for its beautiful sunrise and sunset views. For a taste of adventure, head to Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, located around 80km from Chikmagalur. They usually take a minimum of a half-day Jeep safari. You can also visit the nearby temple town of Sringeri.
