Start your adventure in Munnar, a breathtaking hill station that's perfect for trekking. Kick off your morning with a hike through the lush tea plantations of Kolukkumalai, the highest tea estate in the country. Next, head to the Eravikulam National Park to spot the endangered Nilgiri Tahr goat. End the day at the Top Station viewpoint for stunning sunset views overlooking the Western Ghats.
Get your adrenaline pumping with a visit to the Periyar National Park, a protected wildlife reserve home to elephants, tigers, and more. Go for a nature walk, bamboo rafting, or even a guided night trek. After the park, visit the Parunthumpara Viewpoint for a panoramic view of nearby waterfalls and rolling hills. End the day by exploring the Spice Garden to see and learn about the different spices grown here.
End your adventure with a relaxing day in Alleppey, known as the "Venice of the East". Start the day by checking into a houseboat and cruising through the famous backwaters. Enjoy the tranquil scenery, spot local birds and animals, and taste the traditional cuisine. In the evening, visit the Marari Beach to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
If you have more than 3 days, consider visiting the beautiful beaches of Kovalam instead of Alleppey. For less than 3 days, skip either Munnar or Thekkady. However, keep in mind that Munnar has better trekking options compared to Thekkady.
