Stop by Surajtal lake before continuing your ride to Sarchu, one of the most challenging and beautiful parts of the route.
Enter Ladakh and visit Leh. Wander around the Old Town and the Leh Palace. Visit the Hall of Fame museum to know about the Indo-Pak Kargil war.
Visit the Alchi monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Proceed to the Moon land of Lamayuru and visit the Lamayuru monastery and its colourful prayer wheels.
Ride through the highest motorable pass, Khardung La, to get to Nubra Valley. Visit the Diskit monastery and Hunder sand dunes for double hump camel ride.
Visit the Pangong Tso, known for its stunning beauty in the Bollywood movie 3 Idiots. Spend an overnight here before heading back.
Ride back to Leh and relax for the day. Visit the Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist white-dome structure on a hilltop.
If you have extra time, visit Tso Moriri lake or Turtuk village. If time is short or the road conditions are not optimal, skip Pangong Tso and check out Tso Kar lake instead. It's important to acclimatize to the high altitude conditions at Leh before embarking on further rides. Carry enough water and snacks throughout the journey.
