Arrive in Dehradun and take a scenic drive to Haridwar, one of India's seven holiest places. Visit the Vaishno Devi Temple and the Chandi Devi Temple on Neel Parvat by cable car. Try local delicacies like kachori and rasmalai.
Leave Haridwar and drive towards Rudraprayag, a small town located at the confluence of river Alaknanda and river Mandakini. En route, visit the ancient temples of Raghunathji, Shrinagar, and Devprayag. Reach Rudraprayag by evening, and enjoy a leisurely evening on the banks of river Alaknanda.
Start early in the morning and reach Sonprayag by road. From there, embark on a 16 km trek to Kedarnath. Travel through the picturesque forests, streams, and meadows to reach the holy shrine of Kedarnath. Visit the ancient and famous Kedarnath Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Spend the night at one of the lodges or campsites and enjoy the serene and peaceful environment.
After an early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple, trek back to Sonprayag. From there, drive back to Haridwar through the scenic and hilly terrain. Rest for a while and explore Haridwar and its markets. In the evening, take part in the mesmerizing Ganga aarti ceremony on the banks of the Ganges River.
If you have more time, you can add an extra day in Haridwar to explore the city in-depth. You can visit more temples, try street food, and shop in the local markets. You can also add a day in Dehradun to enjoy the beauty of the Mussoorie Hills. For those with less time, you can exclude Rudraprayag and spend more time in Kedarnath.
