Start your trip with a trek to Meenmutty Waterfalls. It is located amidst dense jungles, and the three-tier falls gushes down from a height of over 980 feet. The trek uphill starts from the Ooty road, and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the falls. Wear proper trekking shoes, carry a water bottle and enjoy the scenic views on the way. Take a dip in the refreshing waters, and have a picnic by the falls.
Climb Wayanad's highest peak, Chembra Peak, which is at an elevation of 6,900 ft. The trek up and down takes about 5 hours and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and hills. The Lakkidi viewpoint and Soochipara Waterfalls are nearby places of interest.
Visit Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India. Take a boat ride around the islands formed in the reservoir and enjoy the lush green surroundings. The nearby Banasura hills offer trekking opportunities. The Pookode Lake and the Jain Temple at Sultan Bathery are other attractions nearby.
If you have more time, visit the Edakkal Caves, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, Thirunelli Temple, and Kuruva Island. For adventurers, zipline and rock climbing activities are available in various locations. If you have less time, consider reducing the number of locations and focusing on the ones that inspire you the most.
