Munnar is situated at a height of 5,200 ft in the Western Ghats mountain range. The panoramic view of the lush green tea plantations is breath-taking and is a paradise for adventure enthusiasts. During August, the weather is perfect for trekking in the hills or exploring the nearby waterfalls. Visit the Eravikulam National Park to spot the Nilgiri Tahr. Stay in a tree house and enjoy the cool breeze and the serene surroundings.
Thekkady is a perfect place for adventure lovers, with activities like boating, trekking, and mountain walks. Explore the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to elephants, tigers, and many other wildlife species. Take a boat ride on the Periyar Lake to watch the wildlife and the panoramic views of the tea, coffee and spice plantations. Try an elephant ride through the jungle or marshes or take a guided jungle walk in the Periyar Forest Reserve.
If you have more time, add a visit to Kumarakom Backwaters for a scenic boat ride. For less time, skip Munnar Hill Station and head straight to Thekkady and try a bamboo rafting trip instead of the jungle walk.
