Begin your day by walking around the Mall Road, the heart of Shimla. Filled with restaurants, shops, and stalls selling souvenirs. Glide in the cheerful vibes of the market and don’t forget to take photos at Scandal Point. Afterward, head towards the Christ Church. The church is the second oldest one in North India, and its architecture is in Elizabethan style, making it one of the top tourist spots in Shimla.
Escape the noisy city life and breathe in the fresh air of nature in Kufri. In winter, you can go skiing in the snowy mountains, making it an ideal travel destination. During the summer, exploring the Himalayan flora & fauna is a perfect way to spend a day. Himalayan Nature Park, Mahasu Peak, and Kufri Fun World are some of the top attractions in the area. Try local delicacies like Aloo ka Jhol and Chole Bhature in the nearby restaurants.
The last day of your trip, take a walk around some of the most historically preserved places in Shimla. Start your journey from the Vice Regal Lodge, formerly the residence of the Viceroy of India during the British Regime and witness the neo-gothic architecture. Then walk towards the State Museum, which displays the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh. Finally, visit the Gaiety Theatre, blessed with Victorian-era architectural marvel.
If you have more time, visit The Ridge and Jakhu Temple. The Ridge is a long stretch of the open street where you can enjoy the Himalayan view with ice cream. Jakhu Temple and Hanuman statue are located on top of the Jakhu hill and demand a 2.5 - 3 km comfortable walk from the ridge. If you have less time, it’s best to avoid Kufri and spend a day exploring the shops and eateries of Mall Road. Remember to carry an umbrella as monsoon is expected in July. Don’t forget to bargain while shopping around Mall Road - it’s expected!
