Kelva Beach, a popular destination, is around 8 km long, surrounded by Suru trees, and is one of the cleaner beaches in Maharashtra, which adds to the beauty of the beach. It is an ideal location for water sport activities such as Jet Skiing and Banana Boating at a reasonable price. Couples can have a romantic time strolling on the beach and enjoying the picturesque sunset.
Kohoj Fort is an excellent place for trekkers. The fort is at a height of 3200 ft above sea level, which can take around 3-4 hours to complete. Once they reach the summit, they will be astounded by the view from the fort of the Mahim Valley. Have lunch afterwards, and head to Mahim Beach. Mahim Beach has white sands, abundant coconut palms, and vast Suru trees that provide shade to picnic-goers. One of the unique features of Mahim Beach is the black sand expanse, which makes it uncommon among the other beaches in the region.
Begin the day by going to Kelva Dam. It is an Arc dam located in northern Palghar district. Go for a swim in the reservoir or have a picnic with your partner. After that, head to Kelva Fort, also known as the Shirgaon Fort. The Portuguese constructed the fort; you can lord over the scenic site from the fort gates. The fort affords a breath-taking overlook of the Arabian Sea and the beach. If time allows, see Shitladevi Temple and Kelva Ganesh Temple.
Visitors should wear appropriate clothes and footwear while in places like the Kelva Dam and Kohoj Fort, which are rocky, and remember to bring towels and sunscreen. Couples can add the The Kelva Bird Sanctuary, Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary, and Kelva Beach Waterpark to extend their time in Palghar. If you have less time, skip Kelva Dam and Kelva Fort and head directly to Mahim Beach.
