2-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary in Vagamon for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Illikkal Kallu
    30 minutes (11.5 miles) from Vagamon Town

    Begin your motorcycle riding adventure with a visit to the Illikkal Kallu which is a well-known trekking and rock-climbing spot near Vagamon. You’ll witness lush greenery along the way. A 2.5 km steep trek will lead to the top of the hill from where one can have a panoramic view of Western Ghats. This view point is situated at a height of 3,450 ft above the sea level. There are several small shops on the way where you can refill your energy with refreshing drinks and snacks.

  2. Day 1: Thangal Para
    25 minutes (9.7 miles) from Illikkal Kallu

    Next you can visit the Thangal Para which is a pilgrimage destination for Muslims.This is a scenic spot situated in the midst of rolling hills. The mausoleum of Sheikh Fariduddin and his followers make this place a spiritual succor for all. The architecture of this place shows glimpses of Hindu Temples as well as Muslim dargahs.

  3. Day 1: Vagamon Pine Forests
    15 minutes (5.5 miles) from Thangal Para

    After the spiritual sojourn, you can head towards the Vagamon Pine Forests which are situated in the outskirts of Vagamon town. Riding your motorcycle on the smooth roads amidst the towering pines, this peaceful place offers a serene atmosphere to relax and unwind. You can take a walk through the lush green plantation along the side. A good spot for photography!

  4. Day 2: Vagamon Tea Estates
    30 minutes (12 miles) from Vagamon Pine Forests

    Begin the next day with a visit to the Vagamon Tea Estates. It consists of vast green lands of tea plantations. It is surrounded by hills which are home to various flora and fauna. You can walk along the marked trails and watch as the tea leaves are delivered to the tea factories. You can also taste fresh tea while breathing in the fresh air to make the most of this experience.

  5. Day 2: Kurisumala Ashram
    20 minutes (7.5 miles) from Vagamon Tea Estates

    Riding for about 7.5 miles, you’ll reach the Kurisumala Ashram, which is a Catholic Monastery atop a hill. The Ashram has a number of hermitages, a church, and a library. The serene atmosphere and the blissful surroundings of Kurisumala contribute to its popularity as a tourist and weekend destination.

If you have more time, you can plan a visit to the Murugan Mala, a shrine dedicated to Lord Murugan which is located in the heart of the Vagamon town. You can also visit the Meenachil River if you wish to take some time out for fishing or enjoy a refreshing dip. If you have less time, you can omit any one of the places we mentioned.
