  1. Day 1: Assi Ghat

    Assi Ghat is one of the most popular ghats of Banaras. It is said that Lord Shiva screened through his hair here, and it has made the place auspicious. You can take a boat ride around the ghat or relax at the ghat's cemented area to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Ganges. Devotees flock here to take a dip in the holy Ganges in the hope of attaining salvation. You can also enjoy the famous Prasad from the local vendors selling sweets.

  2. Day 2: Ramnagar Fort and Museum
    5.5 km (30-minute drive) from Assi Ghat

    Located on the banks of the Ganges, the Ramnagar Fort and Museum is a perfect retreat for history lovers. The fort was built by the Kashi Naresh Raja Balwant Singh in the 18th-century and renovated in the early 19th century. The fort complex includes a museum containing some of the rarest and ancient collections of paintings, artifacts, and vintage cars used by the royalties of Banaras. Additionally, the scenic beauty of the Ganges from the fort is breathtaking.

  3. Day 3: Sarnath
    10.5 km (40-minute drive) from Ramnagar Fort and Museum

    Sarnath is a serene Buddhist pilgrimage site, famous for being the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. You can explore the sardonic magnificence of the Dhamekh Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, and Sarnath Archaeological Museum taking a stroll in the beautiful gardens. The tour to these sites and museum provides substantial knowledge about Indian history, art, and architecture. You can indulge in meditation, listen to the Buddhist teaching or seek inner peace in the calm surroundings of Sarnath.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you should visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple. It is one of the oldest temples in India dedicated to Lord Shiva. If you have fewer days, we recommend removing the Ramnagar Fort and Museum from your itinerary and visiting the Dashashwamedh Ghat, which beautifully portrays the Hindu culture, rituals, and beliefs.
