Famous for its sprawling tea plantations, Ooty is a must-visit destination in June. Start the day by visiting the Doddabetta Peak - the highest peak in the Nilgiri range. Take a stroll in the Sim's Park and enjoy the scenic beauty while sipping on some refreshing tea. Head over to the Ooty Lake for a speed boat ride, and then end the day with some local cuisine at Hotel Junior Kuppanna.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mahabalipuram is known for its historic temples and structures. Start the day by visiting the Shore Temple and marvel at the intricate carvings and stone workmanship. Take a walk around the Pancha Rathas and witness the beauty of ancient Indian architecture. Visit the Krishna's Butter Ball, a gravity-defying rock sculpture, before ending the day with some seafood at the famous Mahabalipuram Fishermen Colony.
Last day of the trip calls for some relaxation, and what better place than the serene beaches of Pondicherry. Start the day by visiting the Promenade Beach and take a walk on the rocky shoreline. Visit the Aurobindo Ashram to seek some tranquility and inner peace. End the trip by partying at the L'Aqua nightclub, situated on the rooftop of the Promenade hotel.
If you have more time, consider spending an extra day in Ooty to visit the Pykara falls and the Ooty Botanical Gardens. On the other hand, if you have less time, you can skip Mahabalipuram and head straight to Pondicherry. Do keep in mind that June is peak tourist season, so make sure to book your accommodation and activities well in advance. Also, carry enough cash as some places may not accept credit/debit cards.
