Start your adventure with a visit to the Monkey Falls. A serene waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The water here is refreshing and offers a good opportunity for swimming beneath the falls. You can also enjoy a picnic by the waterfall. The place usually gets crowded, so make sure to arrive early. Don't forget your swimsuit and towel.
On the second day, visit the Aliyar Dam Reservoir. The dam is constructed across the Aliyar River, and the reservoir offers a fantastic boating experience. Spend some time relaxing on the banks of the dam and enjoying the scenic beauty of the forest surrounding the area. You can also indulge in a variety of watersports here, such as kayaking, canoeing and jet-skiing.
End your adventure with a hike to the Nallamudi Poonjolai. It is a unique and challenging trek that takes you through the dense forest to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the valley below. You can spot a variety of rare flora and fauna along the way. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks for the hike, as there are no food or water sources along the trail.
If you have more time, you can also visit the Valparai viewpoint, which offers stunning views of the surrounding tea plantations. Or you can spend some time at the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary.
If you have less time, you can drop the visit to the Aliyar Dam Reservoir or Monkey Falls. Make sure to carry a good pair of hiking shoes and a raincoat as it might rain at any time.
