Mullayanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka, standing at an elevation of 1,930 meters. This peak is surrounded by beautiful lush green forests and is perfect for a family trek or hike. Once you reach the top, you will experience stunning panoramic views of the surrounding hills and plains. Near the peak, there is also a sacred Shiva temple frequented by devotees and tourists. You can spend 4-5 hours here enjoying the breathtaking scenery and the cool breeze.
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve is a massive 492-square-kilometer expanse of land that is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. The reserve is named after the Bhadra River, which flows through it. The sanctuary is home to many endangered species of animals like elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. You can enjoy a jeep safari through the reserve to spot some of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. You can also take a boat ride on the Bhadra River surrounded by dense forests. The sanctuary also offers trekking and camping options.
The Coffee Museum takes you through the history of coffee in India and the evolution of coffee processing techniques. On display are various antique coffee-making tools, machines, and paraphernalia. You can also taste various types of coffee here. Jhari Waterfalls is located in the Baba Bundangiri Hills and is a mesmerizing natural wonder amidst stunning landscapes. It is a series of cascading waterfalls and natural pools which you can explore, swim and enjoy a picnic. You can also take part in an adventure trek to explore the mountain trails. Spend 4-5 hours here before heading back to rest.
In case you have additional time, you can visit the Hirekolale Lake, Hoysaleshwara Temple in Halebid, and Belur Temple. If you have a shorter time, you can combine Mullayanagiri and Jhari waterfalls in a single day. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, take insect repellent, snacks, and water.
