On the weekends, locals set up food and game stalls around the lake, adding to the festive atmosphere. Don't miss the opportunity to try the hot and crispy fresh bhutta (roasted corn) sold here. You can also rent bicycles or horses to explore the area around the lake.
Coakers Walk is a beautiful walking path along the edge of the hill with a panoramic view of the valley below. It's a perfect spot for a family stroll and some great photo opportunities. On clear days, you can see the Vaigai Dam and the valley around it. Be sure to visit the Kodaikanal Solar Observatory at the end of the walk which studies cosmic rays.
Bryant Park is a well-maintained botanical garden with a variety of flowers, plants, and trees. It's a great place for kids to run around and enjoy the colorful surroundings. The park also has a glasshouse that houses a variety of exotic flowers such as Dahlia and petunias. Don't forget to try the fresh carrot halwa sold outside the park.
Bear Shola Falls is a scenic waterfall surrounded by dense forests. The water cascades down from a height of 40 feet into a small pond where visitors can take a dip. The falls are named after the bears that used to come here to drink water. It's a relatively easy hike to the falls, with the last stretch being a bit steep. Don't forget to carry some snacks and water for the hike.
The Pine Forest is a dense forest of pine trees where the sun rays filter through. It's a great spot for a family photoshoot and to take a leisurely walk. The forest is chilly, so carry a light jacket. There are also horse rides available, and a small tea shop selling homemade chocolates.
