Start your day with an adventure to Mullayanagiri Peak, the highest peak in Karnataka. Hike to the top and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys, forests, and mountains. The hike takes about 4 hours round trip, and there are refreshment shops along the way to fuel up. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes and clothing for the hike.
Visit the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary for an adventurous safari experience. Spot tigers, elephants, sloth bears, and a large variety of bird species in their natural habitat. You can opt for a jeep safari or trekking in the sanctuary’s lush green forests. The sanctuary opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 5:30 PM. It is closed on Tuesdays.
End your adventure with a trek to the Z-Point, a lesser-known trekking destination in Chikmagalur. The trek takes about 4-5 hours round trip and is relatively easy. Z-Point offers magnificent panoramic views of the Western Ghats and its valleys. The best time to visit is between October and June since the weather is more pleasant. Pack some snacks and water to fuel your energy for this trek.
If you have more time, you can add the following activities to your itinerary: a visit to Hebbe Falls, Kudremukh National Park, and Kalhatti Falls. If you have less time, you can skip the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and add a visit to the Baba Budangiri Hills. Remember to stay hydrated during your adventures, and don't forget to pack sunscreen, insect repellent, and a first aid kit.
