The Aurobindo Ashram is a spiritual community founded in 1926 by Sri Aurobindo and his collaborator, The Mother. It is a peaceful and serene place with beautiful gardens, libraries, and meditation centers. Visitors can attend yoga and meditation sessions, explore the museums, or shop for incense and books at the boutiques. Admission is free, but visitors are expected to maintain silence and respect the ashram's rules. The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when the crowds are fewer.

The beach is open from 9 am to 5 pm and closed on Mondays. A boat ride costs around INR 150 per person.

  3. Day 3: Matrimandir

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can explore more beaches in Pondicherry like Promenade Beach, Serenity Beach, or Auroville Beach. You can also visit the Botanical Garden, the Pondicherry Museum, or take a heritage walking tour of the French Quarter. If you have less time, you can skip Paradise Beach or opt for a half-day tour of Auroville instead of Matrimandir. Keep in mind that Pondicherry can get very hot and humid in August, so dress light and wear sunscreen.
