Kedarnath and Tungnath Itinerary for September 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath
    2.5 hours (73.6 km) from Dehradun

    Visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and the Kedarnath Peak. Take a dip in the holy Mandakini River and offer prayers at the Bhairav Temple.

  2. Day 2: Tungnath
    2 hours (59 km) from Kedarnath

    Drive to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. Trek for 3.5 km to reach the temple through the beautiful meadows, forests, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Enroute, you will also visit the Chandrashila Peak and the Deoria Tal lake. Enjoy the mesmerizing sunset from Tungnath and stay overnight in a campsite.

  3. Day 3: Guptkashi
    5.5 hours (183 km) from Tungnath

    Go on a scenic drive to Guptkashi and explore the ancient Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Visit the nearby Manikarnika Kund and the Ardhnarishwar Temple. Take a dip in the holy hot springs of the Gaurikund and experience the local culture and cuisine.
