3-Day "Foodie" Trip to Triund, Himachal Pradesh in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Indrahar Pass
    1 hour (6.1 miles) from McLeod Ganj

    Begin your trip with a trek to the Indrahar Pass, a mountain pass situated at an altitude of 4,342 metres in the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. The trek will take approximately 4-5 hours, and the view of the snow-capped mountain ranges will make the effort worth it. You will pass through dense forests, beautiful meadows, and a glacial lake on the way. Carry some snacks and water along with you.

  2. Day 2: Norbulingka Institute
    30 minutes (9.3 miles) from Triund

    Visit the Norbulingka Institute, an institution dedicated to preserving the Tibetan culture. You can tour the workshops and witness traditional Tibetan art forms such as thangka painting, sculpture, metalwork, and wood carving. You can also shop for souvenirs such as handicrafts, Tibetan incense, and prayer flags. The restaurant on the premises serves delicious Tibetan and Bhutanese cuisine.

  3. Day 3: McLeod Ganj
    1 hour (3.4 miles) from Triund

    Explore the bustling town of McLeod Ganj, the residence of the 14th Dalai Lama and the headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Visit the Tsuglagkhang Complex, a spiritual centre comprising a monastery, a temple, and a museum. Sample some authentic Tibetan food at Lung Ta Japanese Restaurant, Nick's Italian Kitchen, and Ogo's Cafe. You can also shop for souvenirs such as Tibetan handicrafts, jewellery, and books.
