3-Day Adventure Itinerary for Wayanad in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Banasura Sagar Dam
    45 minutes (19.6 km) from Kalpetta

    Built on the Banasura Sagar River, this is the largest earthen dam in India and a popular tourist destination. Visitors can take a speedboat ride, trek to nearby hills or simply enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. The dam is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great place for photography.

  2. Day 2: Thusharagiri Waterfalls
    1 hour 20 minutes (43.6 km) from Banasura Sagar Dam

    A set of three waterfalls located in the Western Ghats, Thusharagiri Waterfalls is a beautiful natural attraction. Visitors can trek to the waterfalls through the forest, enjoy a refreshing bath in the cool waters or simply relax in the serene surroundings. The trek is moderately difficult and takes around 1-2 hours.

  3. Day 3: Chembra Peak
    1 hour 15 minutes (27.4 km) from Thusharagiri Waterfalls

    Located at an altitude of 2,100 metres above sea level, Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the top takes around 3-4 hours and is moderately difficult. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the district from the top, including the heart-shaped lake, which is a major attraction. The trek requires permission from the forest department.
