To fully explore Playa del Carmen, we recommend renting a car. Alternatively, you can also use taxis, Uber, or the local bus system. Taxis and Uber can cost up to $30-$50 for a 30-minute ride while the local bus is inexpensive but can be crowded at times.
If you have more time, consider visiting the ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum or Chichen Itza, or enjoy a day trip to nearby islands like Isla Contoy or Isla Mujeres. If you have less time, skip Rio Secreto and Casa Cenote and focus on other beach and nightlife activities.
