Kedharnath 4-Day Itinerary - November 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    Located in the Kedarnath Range of the Himalayas

    The Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the four sacred shrines in Hinduism and is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters above sea level. The temple is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is accessible by a 14 km uphill trek. The trek is challenging but rewarding, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. The temple is open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal
    Distance: 8.8 km from Kedarnath (3 hours 10 mins trek)

    Vasuki Tal is a high altitude lake situated at an altitude of 4,150 meters above sea level. The trek to the lake is difficult, but the panoramic views of the Himalayas make it worth the effort. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and offers a peaceful and serene environment. The best time to visit Vasuki Tal is from May to June and from September to November.

  3. Day 3: Gandhi Sarovar
    Distance: 6.3 km from Kedarnath (2 hours 45 mins trek)

    Gandhi Sarovar is a glacial lake located at an altitude of 3,900 meters above sea level. The lake gets its name from Mahatma Gandhi, who visited the region in 1947. The trek to Gandhi Sarovar is moderate and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Visitors can also see the Chorabari Glacier on the way to the lake. The lake is accessible from May to October.

  4. Day 4: Triyuginarayan Temple
    Distance: 14.6 km from Kedarnath (1 hour 51 mins drive)

    The Triyuginarayan Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married. The temple is surrounded by beautiful scenery and offers a peaceful environment. Visitors can also see the eternal flame that burns at the temple. The temple is open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
