Two Days in Varanasi and Prayagraj

Sunday, September 24: Varanasi

Start your day by immersing yourself in the spiritual vibes of Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world. In the morning, head to the famous Dashashwamedh Ghat and witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony, where priests perform rituals and offer prayers to the holy river Ganges. Afterward, explore the narrow alleys of the Old City, known as the labyrinth of Varanasi, and visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch at one of the local restaurants, savoring the flavors of authentic North Indian cuisine.

In the afternoon, take a boat ride along the Ganges River to experience the scenic beauty and observe the religious rituals performed at various ghats. Visit the Sarnath Archaeological Site, located just outside the city, which is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Spend some peaceful time at the Deer Park and explore the various stupas and ruins. As the evening approaches, return to Varanasi and enjoy a serene sunset boat ride while witnessing the evening aarti ceremony at one of the lesser-known ghats.
