New Zealand has a well-connected network of roads, but it's important to factor in time for driving as some roads can be narrow and winding. Flights are also available between the major cities, including Auckland, Wellington and Napier.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Waitomo Caves or the Bay of Islands. If you have less time, consider dropping Napier from the itinerary. Don't forget to pack comfortable shoes for walking and dress in layers as the weather can change quickly in New Zealand.
