Kaza is the largest township and commercial center of the Spiti Valley. It is located at an altitude of 3,650 meters above sea level. Visit the Key Monastery which is more than 1000 years old and is the biggest monastery in Spiti Valley. Then, head to the Kibber Village, which is around 20 km from Kaza, to visit the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary where you can spot the Tibetan wolf and the elusive snow leopard.
Tabo is a small town situated on the banks of the Spiti River. Visit the famous Tabo Monastery which is more than 1000 years old and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery is known for its rare collection of thangkas, murals, and sculptures. After that, explore the Cave Complex, which is located at the back of the monastery and has small caves with meditation rooms.
The Pin Valley National Park is located in the cold desert region of Himachal Pradesh. The park is home to the Snow Leopard, Tibetan Gazelle, Bharal, Red Fox, and many other animals. Trek to the Pin-Parvati Pass which is at an altitude of 5,319 meters and offers a magnificent view of the valley.
Chandratal Lake is situated at an altitude of 4,300 meters and is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalayas. It is also known as the Moon Lake because of its crescent shape. You can trek around the lake and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
