Head to the Ridge, the heart of Shimla, famous for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and colonial architecture. Take a stroll around the ridge and visit the Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in North India. End the day by enjoying a panoramic sunset view with a fresh fruit chaat.
Visit the Kufri Fun World, an amusement park with various rides, and a snow park that offers skiing and tobogganing. Later, head to the Himalayan Nature Park, a wildlife park that is home to rare bird species and animals like leopard, barking deer, and the Himalayan black bear.
Explore the Mall Road, the commercial hub for shopping, eating, and entertainment in Shimla. Visit the Gaiety Theatre, a heritage site built in 1887, and enjoy a play or musical performance. Also, try some local street food like Chole Bhature, Golgappe, and Shimla’s famous Tudkiya Bhath.
Go on a trek to one of Shimla’s most popular waterfalls, the Chadwick Falls. The trek is moderately difficult, and once you reach the falls, you can take a dip in the icy-cold water or have a picnic by the falls.
Visit the Jakhu Temple, a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman situated at the highest peak in Shimla. The temple is believed to be the spot where Lord Hanuman rested during his search for the Sanjeevni Booti. Get a panoramic view of the city from the temple, and don’t forget to feed the monkeys.
Take a guided walk through the heritage sites of Shimla. Start with the Viceregal Lodge, also known as Rashtrapati Niwas, the former summer residence of the British viceroys, and visit the Himachal State Museum, known for its collection of ancient artefacts, paintings, and sculptures. End the day with a visit to the Scandal Point, a popular hangout spot for locals.
