Start your trip by visiting the largest mosque in India, Jama Masjid. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1656, this red sandstone and marble mosque can hold up to 25,000 worshippers. It has three gateways, four towers and two minarets standing 40 meters high.
Head over to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the tallest minarets in the world. Built in the early 13th century, this 73-meter-high tower is made of red sandstone and marble and has five storeys, each with a balcony. The complex also includes the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque built in India.
A visit to India is incomplete without seeing the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This ivory-white marble mausoleum, built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, is a symbol of love and a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. The perfectly symmetrical Taj Mahal appears to glow in the light of the full moon.
Visit the Amer Fort, also known as Amber Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site built in the 16th century. This fort, made of red sandstone and marble, is located high on a hill and offers breathtaking views of Jaipur. Take an elephant ride to reach the fort or walk up the stairs. Inside the fort, you'll find the Sheesh Mahal, a palace made of glass and mirrors.
End your trip by visiting Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of the Winds. This five-story palace was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh for the royal ladies to watch the street processions without being seen. It has 953 small windows, also known as jharokhas, which allow the breeze to flow through the palace.
