The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site with architectural beauties, colorful facades, and rich in history. There are plenty of restaurants where you can try Polish delicacies or enjoy a cup of coffee. Visit the Royal Castle, walk down the Castle Square and see the Column of Sigismund III Vasa.
Łazienki Park, which means "Baths Park," is one of the most beautiful parks in Europe filled with nature, ponds, and iconic statues. In the heart of the park, see the Palace on the Water, a neoclassical palace built on an island in 1689. Watch a free Chopin concert at the Chopin Monument.
This theater-museum is dedicated to the history of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. You can see authentic documents, photographs, visual and sound effects that create the atmosphere of those days. There is also a faithful replica of the Liberator aircraft from World War II.
The POLIN Museum tells the 1000-year history of Jews in Poland. The exhibitions present Jewish traditions, customs, music, and culture before, during, and after the Holocaust. Don't miss the nearby Muranów neighborhood with its restaurants and café, where Clint Eastwood filmed his movie.
End the trip with a relaxing 2-hour boat trip on the Vistula River. You will see Warsaw from a different perspective, and you can take amazing pictures of the skyline. There are different boats and cruises to choose from, you can even have lunch or dinner on board.
Getting around Warsaw is easy and affordable, with an extensive tram and bus network. You can buy tickets at vending machines, kiosks, or directly from the bus driver. A 24-hour ticket costs 15 PLN. Taxis and ride-hailing services are also available, but always check the price before starting the ride.
If you have more time, visit the Palace of Culture and Science, the tallest building in Poland, and take in panoramic city views from its terrace. For art lovers, the National Museum and Zachęta National Gallery of Art are must-see places. If you have less time, skip the Vistula River cruise, or shorten the visit to the museums.
Warsaw has two airports. The Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is located 10 km south-west from the city center, and it takes approximately 20 minutes to get there by taxi or public transportation. The other airport is Warsaw Modlin (WMI), located about 40 km from the city center, but with good transport connections.
