Most attractions in Ketchikan are within walking distance of each other, making walking the cheapest and most convenient option for transportation. If you need to go further, taking a local city bus costs $2 per ride and taxis are available as well. Be aware of the bus schedule as they may operate on a limited schedule outside of peak tourist season.
If you have more time, consider taking a ferry to nearby islands, such as Prince of Wales Island, to hike and explore nature. If you have less time, skip the Ketchikan Fish Market and head straight to Saxman Native Village or add a visit to the Tongass Historical Museum. Don't forget to pack comfortable walking shoes as there are hills and stairs in Ketchikan.
