Honeymoon Itinerary for Hunza and Skardu in 9 Days

  • Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad

    Upon arrival at Islamabad airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day resting and leisurely exploring Islamabad.

  • Day 2: Islamabad to Hunza
    Estimated time: 10 hours (450 km)

    After breakfast, we will start our journey towards Hunza. The scenic drive along Karakoram Highway offers magnificent views of the mountains, valleys, and waterfalls. We will make stops at different points to enjoy the scenery and take photos. We will reach Hunza in the evening.

  • Day 3: Exploring Hunza
    Estimated time: 6 hours

    We will start our day early and head towards Baltit Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 700-year-old castle served as a residence for the Mirs of Hunza. Afterward, we will visit the colorful local market and take a walk around the beautiful Hunza valley. We will end our day with a romantic dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Day 4: Hunza to Khunjerab Pass

    Today, we will take a day trip to Khunjerab Pass, the highest paved international border crossing in the world. We will witness the stunning natural scenery and stop at different viewpoints along the way. Afterward, we will return to Hunza in the evening.

  • Day 5: Hunza to Skardu

    In the morning, we will head to Skardu, the capital of Baltistan. The drive to Skardu is another scenic route that offers stunning views of the mountains and valleys. We will make stops at different points to enjoy the scenery and take photos. We will reach Skardu in the evening.

  • Day 6: Exploring Skardu

    We will start our day by visiting the Skardu Fort, a 700-year-old castle that was once the residence of the Balti Kings. Afterward, we will take a trip to Shangri-La Resort, which offers stunning views of the Shigar valley. We will end our day with a romantic dinner at a local restaurant.

  • Day 7: Skardu to Deosai Plains
    Estimated time: 7 hours (200 km)

    Today, we will visit the Deosai Plains, a high-altitude plateau that offers stunning views of the mountains and valleys. We will also have the opportunity to witness wildlife such as brown bears, ibexes, and snow leopards. Afterward, we will return to Skardu in the evening.

  • Day 8: Skardu to Islamabad

    After breakfast, we will start our journey towards Islamabad. The scenic drive along Karakoram Highway offers magnificent views of the mountains, valleys, and waterfalls. We will make stops at different points to enjoy the scenery and take photos. We will reach Islamabad in the late evening.

  • Day 9: Departure from Islamabad

    After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, you will be transferred to Islamabad airport for your flight back home.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, consider adding a trek to Nanga Parbat base camp or attending the Uchau festival in Gilgit. If you have less time, you can skip the Deosai Plains or Khunjerab Pass day trip. However, these are highly recommended attractions, and we advise that you include them in your itinerary.

The nearest airport to Hunza and Skardu is Skardu Airport (KDU), which is approximately 15 km and 5 km from Hunza and Skardu, respectively. Another option is Gilgit Airport (GIL), which is approximately 80 km from Hunza. Both airports offer domestic flights from major Pakistani cities, and the estimated cost for a one-way ticket is between $50-$100.
