The National Museum of Art located in the Royal Palace exhibits paintings, sculptures, decorative arts and icons from Romania and Europe. Carol Park is one of the oldest public parks in Bucharest, where visitors can see the mausoleum that houses the tombs of King Carol I and Queen Elisabeta.
Bucharest has an extensive public transport network that includes buses, trams, trolleys and a metro system consisting of four lines. A single journey ticket for metro, bus, or tram costs RON 1.5, and a day pass costs RON 8. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also available which can be more expensive than public transport, but provide more flexibility and comfort.
If you have additional time, you can visit the Museum of the Romanian Peasant, Old Town, or Therme spa. If you have less time, eliminate one of the attractions per day or reduce the visiting hours. It's recommended to book your tickets for the Palace of the Parliament online in advance.
Bucharest has two airports: Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), which is located 18 km from the city centre, and Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (BBU), closer to the city, only 8 km away from the city centre, mainly serving regional and low-cost flights.
