Transportation

Getting around Longyearbyen is mostly done by foot, and many attractions are walking distance to each other. A taxi is the easiest way to travel from the airport to your accommodations. Tours include transportation and pick up from your accommodation. Winter travel may include the use of snowmobiles which can be rented from companies located in town.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, add a visit to Barentsburg or an ice cave tour. If you have less time, consider removing Arctic Adventure Tour or Galleri Svalbard. Bring warm clothes and good walking shoes as it can get very cold in the Arctic and many roads and trails are not paved.
