Explore the ancient Edakkal Caves, which are considered one of the oldest human settlements in India. The rock engravings here are said to date back to the Neolithic age. The caves are located at an altitude of 1,200 metres above sea level and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Take a scenic trek to the top of Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The heart-shaped lake on the way to the summit is a major attraction. The trek to the top takes around 3-4 hours, but the views from the top are worth it. Be sure to obtain the necessary permissions and carry enough water and snacks for the trek.
Relax and unwind at Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery. Boating facilities are available here, and there is also a children's park and an aquarium. Spend some time enjoying the serene surroundings before heading back.
