Two-Day Itinerary for Thirpathi in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Sri Venkateswara Temple
10 minutes (4.3 km) from Tirupati Railway Station

Sri Venkateswara Temple is a must-visit destination in Thirpathi. August is the most popular month to visit, as it coincides with the Brahmotsavam Festival. This festival is celebrated with great fervor and sees hundreds of thousands of devotees flocking to the temple. Be prepared for long queues and waiting times. The temple is open from 5 am to 12:30 pm and then again from 3:30 pm to 9 pm. The darshan timings may vary on special occasions, so it's best to check before you visit. The temple is a beautiful example of Dravidian architecture and has intricate carvings and sculptures. It's a spiritual experience that should not be missed.

  2. Day 2: Talakona Waterfalls
2 hours (60 km) from Sri Venkateswara Temple

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head to Talakona Waterfalls. The falls are located inside a dense forest and provide breathtaking views. You can take a trek to the top of the falls and enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding forests. The trek is moderately difficult and takes around 30 minutes. The falls are open from 8 am to 5 pm, and it's best to reach early to avoid the crowds. The monsoon season in August means that the falls will be at their most spectacular, but be prepared for rain and slippery paths. The area around the falls is also home to rare species of flora and fauna.
