7-Day Itinerary for Wayanadu in June 2023

1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves
   20 minutes (8.9 km) from Kalpetta

   Explore the prehistoric caves with carvings and paintings dating back to the Neolithic era. Hike up to the caves and enjoy the scenic views.

2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam
   1 hour (34 km) from Edakkal Caves

   Visit the second-largest earth dam in Asia and enjoy boating and trekking. The dam offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and lush greenery.

3. Day 3: Chembra Peak
   45 minutes (14 km) from Banasura Sagar Dam

   Hike up to the highest peak in Wayanadu and enjoy the panoramic view of the whole district. The trek is moderately difficult and requires a guide.

4. Day 4: Pookode Lake
   1 hour (26 km) from Chembra Peak

   Visit the uninhabited river island located in the middle of Kabini river. Explore the lush green forests, streams, and waterfalls. A great spot for a picnic or a dip in the river.

7. Day 7: Soochipara Waterfalls
