The Brasilia Zoo is a perfect place to begin a family-friendly trip to the city. The expansive zoo features many exotic animals from all over the world, and there are plenty of hands-on activities and tours that are perfect for children of all ages.
Established in 2006, the National Museum of the Republic is a museum in the Praça dos Três Poderes in Brasília. The museum features extensive exhibitions of Brazilian art and history, from colonial times to the present day; its collection includes paintings, engravings, photographs, documents and sculptures.
The Juscelino Kubitschek Memorial is dedicated to the former Brazilian president who oversaw the construction of the city. The memorial features interactive exhibitions and multimedia displays showcasing Kubitschek's life and legacy, as well as the history and development of Brasilia.
Travelers in Brasilia can easily get around using public transportation such as the metro, buses, and taxis. Expect to pay around R$16 for a day pass on public transportation. Taxis are also relatively cheap, but it is recommended that travelers agree on a price with the driver before departing.
Add more time to visit the Brasilia Cathedral, which is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. If time allows, consider visiting the Planalto Palace, which is the official workplace of the President of Brazil. On the other hand if you have less time, skip the Juscelino Kubitschek Memorial.
Brasilia has one airport, Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport (BSB).It's located around 11.6 km from the city center and is easily accessible by public transportation and taxis.
