7-Day Motorcycle Riding Itinerary from Delhi to Srinagar, Leh Ladakh, and Manali - September 2023

  1. Day 1: Delhi to Chandigarh
    4 hours 30 minutes (152 miles) from Delhi

    Start your journey to the Himalayas by riding from Delhi to Chandigarh. The smooth, six-lane highway will help you cover the distance quickly. Chandigarh is known for its beautiful gardens and modern architecture, so take a stroll around the city before retiring for the night.

  2. Day 2: Chandigarh to Srinagar
    10 hours 30 minutes (273 miles) from Chandigarh

    Leave early to enjoy the scenic beauty of this route. You will ride through the beautiful towns of Patnitop and Anantnag before reaching the beautiful valley of Srinagar. Enjoy the sunset at the Dal Lake and stay in a houseboat for a unique experience.

  3. Day 3: Srinagar to Kargil
    8 hours 30 minutes (204 miles) from Srinagar

    Start early as you will be riding through the Zojila Pass, one of the most challenging passes in the world. The views of the Himalayas are breathtaking. Kargil is a historic town that was an important battleground during the Kargil War.

  4. Day 4: Kargil to Leh
    5 hours 30 minutes (133 miles) from Kargil

    Another early start as you will ride through the Namika La and Fotu La passes. The town of Leh is at an altitude of 11,480 ft and is the largest town in Ladakh. Spend the day acclimatizing yourself to the high altitude before heading to the nearby Shanti Stupa for a beautiful sunset view.

  5. Day 5: Leh to Nubra Valley
    5 hours 30 minutes (120 miles) from Leh

    Ride to the beautiful Nubra Valley, which is at an altitude of 10,000 ft. You will cross the Khardung La Pass, which is one of the highest motorable roads in the world. Enjoy the sand dunes and go for a ride on a Bactrian camel.

  6. Day 6: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso Lake

    Ride to the beautiful Pangong Tso Lake, which is at an altitude of 14,000 ft and stretches from India to China. The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains and is a popular spot for photography. Stay in a tent near the lake to enjoy the night sky.

  7. Day 7: Pangong Tso Lake to Manali
