  1. Day 1: Explore the Fort and Canyon

    Begin your journey early in the morning by visiting the Gandikota Fort, which is surrounded by a deep gorge, offering picturesque views of the Penna River. Located in the heart of the village, it was built by the Kalyana Chalukyas in the 13th century. The fort complex houses several structures such as the Ranganatha Swamy Temple, the Jamia Masjid, and the Madhavaraya Temple. Later, head towards the Gandikota Canyon, which is also known as the Grand Canyon of India. This stunning geological formation was formed due to the erosion of the Penna River over millions of years. Take a walk along the canyon and enjoy the breathtaking views. You can also indulge in some adventure activities like rappelling, rock climbing, and trekking.

  2. Day 2: Visit the Belum Caves and Yaganti Temple
    2 hours (85 km) from Gandikota Fort

    On the second day, travel to Belum Caves, which is a network of underground caves that date back to millions of years. These caves are known for their unique stalactite and stalagmite formations that resemble different shapes. You can explore different sections of the cave such as the Meditation Hall, Thousand Hoods, and the Banyan Tree Hall. Next, head towards the Yaganti Temple, which is a popular pilgrimage site. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is known for its unique rock formations. The temple also houses several other shrines such as the Venkateswara Temple and the Brahmarambha Temple. You can also visit the nearby beautiful Agastya Pushkarini Lake before returning to Gandikota.
