Discovering Yalagiri in 2 Days: A November 2023 Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Jalagamparai Waterfalls
    20 minutes (8.5 km) from Yalagiri town center.

    Start your adventure in Yalagiri by visiting one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region. The Jalagamparai Waterfalls are located in a dense forest, and you will have to hike for about an hour to reach them. The hike is quite challenging, but the stunning scenery and the refreshing waterfall at the end make it all worth it. You can also enjoy a picnic or a swim in the natural pool below the falls. Please note that the trail is closed during the monsoon season (October to December).

  2. Day 1: Yelagiri Adventure Camp
    15 minutes (6.5 km) from Jalagamparai Waterfalls.

    After your hike, head to Yelagiri Adventure Camp for some thrilling activities. This camp offers a variety of outdoor activities, including zip-lining, rock climbing, rappelling, and bungee jumping. The activities are suitable for all ages and skill levels, and trained instructors will guide you through every step of the way. The camp is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

  3. Day 1: Athanavur Bazaar
    10 minutes (4.5 km) from Yelagiri Adventure Camp.

    End your first day in Yalagiri by exploring the Athanavur Bazaar. This bustling marketplace is located in the heart of Yalagiri town and is filled with vendors selling local handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs. You can also find a variety of street food and snacks here. The bazaar is open from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm.

  4. Day 2: Punganoor Lake Park
    20 minutes (8.5 km) from Yalagiri town center.

    Start your second day in Yalagiri by visiting the Punganoor Lake Park, a serene park encircling a beautiful lake. You can enjoy a boat ride on the lake or take a leisurely walk along the park's many walking trails. There are also several play areas for children, as well as food stalls serving snacks and refreshments. The park is open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

  5. Day 2: Swamimalai Hills
    25 minutes (11 km) from Punganoor Lake Park.

    After your visit to the Punganoor Lake Park, take a drive up to the Swamimalai Hills, the highest point in Yalagiri. At the top of the hill, you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys. There is also a small temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, a popular Hindu deity, at the summit. Please note that the temple is closed from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
