Head to the village of Nongriat to see one of Meghalaya's most iconic attractions - the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. These bridges are made by guiding the roots of the Ficus elastica tree across a river, creating a sturdy and unique bridge. The trek to the bridge takes around 2-3 hours and requires a good level of fitness as there are many steep steps along the way. Once you reach the bridge, take a dip in the crystal-clear pool below and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
Explore the Mawsmai Cave, one of Meghalaya's most accessible caves with well-lit paths and concrete steps. This limestone cave is filled with unique rock formations and stalactites and stalagmites. Afterward, head to the Seven Sisters Falls, a group of seven waterfalls cascading down the rocks. Take a dip in the refreshing pool below or enjoy a picnic surrounded by the lush greenery.
