  3. Day 3: Sringeri Sharada Peetham

    Sringeri Sharada Peetham is a famous Hindu monastery located on the banks of the Tunga river. The monastery was established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century and is dedicated to the goddess Sharada, a form of the goddess Saraswati. The monastery is famous for its Vidyashankara Temple, which is a fusion of Hoysala and Dravidian styles of architecture. The temple houses 12 zodiac pillars and a central pillar, which are designed in such a way that the sun's rays fall on each pillar during the corresponding zodiac months. The monastery is open from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm.
