Srinagar Family-Friendly 5-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Shankaracharya Hill
    9 minutes (3.5 km) from Srinagar City Center

    Climb up to the Shankaracharya Hill and visit the Shankaracharya Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is situated at an altitude of 1,100 feet and provides a beautiful view of the city. Enjoy the peaceful and spiritual ambiance of the temple and the breathtaking views of the city.

  2. Day 2: Dal Lake
    30 minutes (9 km) from Shankaracharya Hill

    Dal Lake is a major tourist attraction in Srinagar. Enjoy a Shikara ride on the lake and admire the floating gardens, vegetable markets, and houseboats. You can also visit the Mughal Gardens on the banks of the lake, which were built in the 16th century. Visit the Nishat Bagh Garden and the Shalimar Bagh Garden, which are located close to the lake.

  3. Day 3: Gulmarg
    2 hours 30 minutes (55 km) from Dal Lake

    Visit the beautiful town of Gulmarg, which is located at an altitude of 2,650 meters. Take a Gondola ride to the Apharwat Peak, which is the highest peak in the Pir Panjal Range. Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or just play in the snow. You can also visit the Gulmarg Golf Course, which is the highest golf course in the world.

  4. Day 4: Pari Mahal
    20 minutes (7 km) from Dal Lake

    Visit Pari Mahal, which is a seven terraced garden located on top of the Zabarwan Mountain Range. It was once used as an observatory and a monastery.     Visit Hazratbal Shrine, which is a shrine dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad. It houses a hair strand of the prophet, which is displayed to the public on certain occasions. Enjoy the peaceful and spiritual ambiance of the shrine and the beautiful view of the Dal Lake. You can also visit the Botanical Garden, which is located close to the shrine.
