Dehradun has a good public transport system comprising of buses and auto-rickshaws (tuk-tuks). Taxis and rental cars can also be hired. It is advisable to check for public transport timings as they may vary. The best way to travel around the city is by hiring a taxi or renting a self-drive car. The estimated cost for a taxi is INR 1200-1500 for a day and INR 4000-5000 for a week.

Or, you can spend some time exploring the local markets in Dehradun, for some great bargains on ethnic clothes and handicrafts. However, if you have less time, you can skip one of the locations and spend more time exploring the others.
Jolly Grant Airport (DED) is the nearest airport to Dehradun, located about 22 km southeast of the city. It is well connected to major cities in India, with regular flights from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, among others.
