  1. Day 1: Imphal

    Imphal, the capital of Manipur, provides a great window into the state's history and culture. Start your day by visiting the Kangla Fort, which is situated on the banks of the Imphal River. The fort was the seat of power of the Manipur Kingdom and today, it houses a museum with exhibits that showcase the region's history. After that, head to the Shree Govindajee Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. The temple's architecture is a blend of ancient and modern styles. Finally, visit the Ima Keithel, or the mother's market, which is the largest all-women-run market in Asia. Here, you can buy traditional Manipuri clothing, handicrafts, and local delicacies.

  2. Day 2: Loktak Lake
    2 hours 15 minutes (60 km) from Imphal

    Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Northeast India and is a must-visit for nature lovers. Start your day by taking a boat ride on the lake to see the phumdis, which are floating islands made of organic matter. You can also visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is the only floating national park in the world. Here, you can spot the endangered Sangai deer, which is found only in Manipur. Finally, visit the Sendra Island, which is located in the middle of the lake and is a popular picnic spot. Here, you can enjoy local food and take in the beautiful views of the lake.
