Thrilling 3-Day Trekking Itinerary in Chennai, July 2023

  1. Day 1: Guindy National Park
    20 minutes (6.2 km) from Chennai Central Railway Station

    Start your trekking journey with a visit to Guindy National Park, the 8th smallest national park in India. Spread over 2.82 sq. km., the park is home to a variety of animals including blackbuck, spotted deer, foxes and over 130 species of birds. The park also features several walking trails where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the park. Don't forget to visit the Snake Park, which houses a variety of snakes and other reptiles, including the King Cobra.

  2. Day 2: Pulicat Lake
    2 hours 30 minutes (55.8 km) from Guindy National Park

    Escape the hustle and bustle of the city with a visit to the serene Pulicat Lake. Located on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, Pulicat Lake is the second largest saltwater lagoon in India. The lake is surrounded by picturesque fishing villages and offers stunning views of the sunrise and sunset. You can also take a boat ride to the nearby island and visit the Dutch Fort, which dates back to the 17th century.

  3. Day 3: Yelagiri Hills
    3 hours 30 minutes (223 km) from Pulicat Lake

    End your trekking adventure with a visit to the Yelagiri Hills, a popular hill station located in the Vellore district. The hills are known for their lush green valleys, orchards and rose gardens. You can go trekking on the several trails that run through the hills, or enjoy a leisurely stroll through the gardens. Don't miss out on the breath-taking view of the sunset from the Telescope Observatory Point.
