3-Day Adventure Itinerary: Trekking, Falls, and Mountains in Goa from Chennai in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Dudhsagar Falls, Goa
45 minutes (20 miles) from Goa International Airport

Start your adventure with a visit to one of Goa's most beautiful waterfalls, the Dudhsagar Falls. The name Dudhsagar translates to "sea of milk," as the waterfall appears to be a milky-white cascade emerging from the lush green forest. The best time to visit is during June when the waterfall is in full glory and flows with great force. You can trek through the Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, and deer. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool at the bottom of the waterfall and take in the breathtaking view of the surrounding valley.

  2. Day 2: Trekking in the Western Ghats
3 hours (80 miles) from Dudhsagar Falls

Explore the Western Ghats, a range of mountains that run parallel to the western coast of India. Trek through the dense forests and grasslands to reach the peak of one of the mountains and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The Western Ghats are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including several endemic species. June is an excellent time to visit as the weather is pleasant, and the views are clearer. Make sure to carry plenty of water, snacks, and a first aid kit, and wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for trekking.

  3. Day 3: Mollem National Park, Goa
1.5 hours (35 miles) from Western Ghats

End your adventure with a visit to Mollem National Park, a protected area known for its rich biodiversity and natural beauty. Trek through the dense forests to reach the Tambdi Surla waterfall, which falls from a height of 50 meters, and enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool. You can also visit the famous Mahadev Temple, which dates back to the 12th century and is located near the waterfall. If time permits, take a jeep safari through the park to spot some of its wildlife, including tigers, leopards, and elephants.
