On your second day in Rome, you can visit some of the city's most famous historical sites, such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Pantheon. You can also explore the Vatican Museums, which displays a vast collection of art and artifacts from the Roman Catholic Church.
Trastevere is a pedestrian-friendly area, and many of its popular attractions are within walking distance. However, you can also take a bus or tram to explore the rest of Rome. A daily public transport pass costs 7 EUR, and a taxi ride from Trastevere to the airport costs around 30 EUR and takes 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.
If you have more time, you can explore more of Trastevere's hidden alleys and discover more churches and restaurants in the area. You can also plan a day trip to nearby towns like Tivoli or Ostia Antica. If you have less time, you can skip some of the historical sites and focus on exploring Trastevere at your own pace.
Rome has two main airports: Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) and Ciampino-G.B. Pastine International Airport (CIA). FCO is the busiest airport and is located about 16 miles southwest of Rome's city center. It is served by many international airlines and has many amenities like restaurants, shops, and car rentals. CIA is a smaller airport that mainly serves low-cost airlines and is located about 12 miles southeast of Rome's city center.
